B-Max Racing Team Announces Matsushita to Race from Rd. 2

B-Max Racing Team announced on April 12, 2021 that joining their previously announced car #50 driver Yves Batas, will be veteran Nobuharu Matsushita. Matsushita will be driving the #51 car this season from Rd. 2 at Suzuka. Bartas will begin taking part in the series once he is able to enter Japan and complete the mandatory COVID-19 quarantine period.
B-Max Racing Team began competing in Super Formula in the 2017 season with veteran Super Formula driver Takashi Kogure behind the wheel. In 2018, Katsumasa Chiyo drove for the team. Then in 2019, Lucas Auer and Harrison Newey competed and helped the team take it to the next level with their first visits to the podium. Due to the pandemic in 2020, the drivers for the team changed, with Teppei Natori and Mitsunori Takaboshi competing Then in Rd. 3, Sergio Sette Camara came in with a blaze of thunder, capturing pole in his first ever Super Formula qualifying. From Rd. 4 on, Nobuharu Matsushita raced for the team, where he won podium in Rd. 7.
Bartas was born in 2002 in the U.S. He previously raced in the Euroformula Open Championship, as well as Formula Renault, where he honed his driving skills. Matsushita raced in F2 prior to returning to Japan in 2019 to compete in Super Formula with DOCOMO TEAM DANDELION RACING. Then with B-Max in 2020 from Rd. 4 through the finale.
With B-Max Racing Team on the grid, the total number of teams in Super Formula in 2021 will be 12.
