Japan Race Promotion announced the Super Formula Rd. 3 at Autopolis driver line-up on May 7, 2021.

Both Kazuki Nakajima (Kuo VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S) and Kamui Kobayashi (KCMG) will not be driving in Rd. 3 due to World Endurance Championship (WEC) commitments. Driving in place of Kazuki again this race will be Giuliano Alesi. Alesi finished 9th in Rd. 2 last month in his Super Formula race debut. Kazuto Kotaka will once again be in the seat in place of Kamui.

Tatiana Calderon (ThreeBond DragoCORSE) who also races in WEC will not be participating in Rd. 3. Filling her shoes will be Super Formula veteran Kodai Tsukakoshi, who is freshly off a win in Super GT.

Tadasuke Makino will be making his long awaited return to Japan’s top class of racing in Rd. 3 for DOCOMO TEAM DANDELION RACING after an absence due to illness. Makino finished 4th in his return to Super GT at Fuji Speedway, so many watchful eyes will be on him in Rd. 3.
