FN06 chassis (LOLA B06/51) brought into use, Honda and Toyota began supplying engines for Formula Nippon (V8 3 liter engine)

Promotional event (Enjoy Kids) held in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture in Sept., and Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture in Nov.
The event in Natori City was held to support the re-building after the Great East Japan Earthquake (The event was renamed “Smile Kids” in 2012)

Formula Nippon renamed to Japanese Championship Formula Nippon (The name was voted for by fans)

The Dallara SF14 chassis brought into use, the power unit equipped with turbo and direct-fuel injection V4 2 liter engines by Honda and Toyota
