One-make chassis for Formula Nippon by LOLA (LOLA B351)
2006
FN06 chassis (LOLA B06/51) brought into use, Honda and Toyota began supplying engines for Formula Nippon (V8 3 liter engine)
Formula Challenge Japan (FCJ) operation and promotion began to bring up young drivers (FCJ was operated until June 2013)
2008
FN09 chassis (SWIFT 917.n) brought into use and engines upgrade to V8 3.4 liter with overtake system
2010
Race digest broadcasting began on BS Fuji (Program name changed in 2015 to “Super Formula GO ON!”)
2011
Promotional event (Enjoy Kids) held in Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture in Sept., and Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture in Nov.
The event in Natori City was held to support the re-building after the Great East Japan Earthquake (The event was renamed “Smile Kids” in 2012)
2013
Formula Nippon renamed to Japanese Championship Formula Nippon (The name was voted for by fans)
2014
The Dallara SF14 chassis brought into use, the power unit equipped with turbo and direct-fuel injection V4 2 liter engines by Honda and Toyota
Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd., SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation become promotional partners for the Super Formula
2016
Yokohama Tire becomes the official tire manufacturer for Super Formula
Sony Corporation becomes official promotional partner for Super Formula
“Chosoku GO ON!” program begins using Super Formula drivers as MC
2017
Broadcasts of Super Formula races begin on BS Fuji
“Live” streaming overseas on motorsport.tv begin
2019
The Dallara SF19 chassis makes its official race debut
The SF19 is included in the Play Station 4 latest update
